Veterans and citizens of Plano gathered Tuesday for the dedication of the Veterans Memorial in the newly renovated Memorial Park on Veterans Day. The American flag flew with soft waves as the cool autumn breeze cut through the air and the sun peeked out from behind the clouds.

Attorney fights to dismiss death penalty
An attorney filed a motion to dismiss the death penalty on the ground that its capital sentencing procedure is unconstitutional. David K. Haynes, McKinney attorney representing Bruce Crawford, 18, in the capital murder trial of a local cab driver, filed the motion in October.

An unnamed bus driver for Plano ISD was placed on administrative leave Wednesday following allegations of an incident with a student. On Thursday, Nancy Long, communications coordinator for Plano ISD, confirmed that the driver was placed on administrative leave with pay pending investigation.

Recent reports state that unemployment throughout the nation is at an all-time high, and the volunteers at God's Food Pantry are feeling the effects. "Thanksgiving is coming up and we're really in some trouble," said Linda White, president of God's Food Pantry.

M.E. confirms infant death at illegal daycare
The death of a 22-month-old infant was confirmed as sudden death syndrome by the Collin County Medical Examiner. The infant was found dead by Plano police at an illegally operated home daycare in September.
